Dr. Khadija Soud Shikely

IHO Board Member

Khadija Soud Shikely is a Pediatric Medical Specialist and has served as Chief Officer of Health (Medical Services) for Mombasa county since 2017. Since 2018, she has been the chairperson of the county Chief Officers of Health. She previously served as Head of Coast Provincial General Hospital (2000-2007), the Provincial Director Medical Services Coast Province (2012-2013), Mombasa County Director of Health (2013–2014), and County Chief Officer Health (2014-2017).

Khadija has served as a board member of a variety of institutions and universities, including Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology, Egerton and Masinde Muliro Universities, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC), Aga Khan Education Service (AKES), Zayed Bin Sultan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation (Zayed Children's Welfare Orphanage).

As a long-serving civil servant, Khadija has a wealth of experience and has represented the county and the nation in a number of global workshops. She was a medical coordinator for the Embassy of China and participated in Lamu annual medical camps. She presented in Washington DC, USA at the International Visitors Leadership Program.

She holds a Master’s degree in Business Management (Health Care Management) from Strathmore Business School. 

During her free time, she loves lawn tennis, reading, swimming, and traveling.
